New technology brought in to look for missing Slocan Lake boaters

Slocan Lake. Robert Irving | TMTV

The search will resume today for three men who went missing after a canoeing accident on Slocan Lake.

Police divers have spent another fruitless day searching Bigelow Bay.

They will now bring in new technology to help them find the missing canoeists, including side scan radar and an underwater remote vehicle.

The three men — aged 15, 19, and 21 — were canoeing on Saturday when their boat overturned just 150 meters from shore..

The accident happened in an area where the lake is more than 120-metres deep.

The fourth member of the group — 19-year-old Lily Harmer-Taylor — was found unconscious inside the canoe.

She later died in hospital.
