HAWKESBURY, Ont. – Provincial police are investigating an incident in eastern Ontario where an intoxicated man was found in a two-year-old girl’s bedroom.
Police say the girl’s parents heard noises coming from her room shortly after 5 a.m. Sunday in Champlain Township, south of Hawkesbury.
It’s alleged that when the girl’s father got out of bed to check on the noises, he found an unknown man sitting on the child’s bed.
Police say the man, who was very intoxicated, went outside after the father told him to leave the house and officers found him sitting on the patio.
He was arrested and detained until he sobered up.
George Telfer, 64, of Dalkeith, is charged with public intoxication and being unlawfully in a dwelling house.
