Vipers even record at RBC Cup

VERNON–  Did the fear of an 0-2 start at the 2014 RBC Cup motivate the Vernon Vipers Monday night?

It looks to be the case as the host squad captured an early lead over the Yorkton Terriers.

The Vipers lead 1-0 after the first period, then scored four unanswered goals in the opening four minutes of the second.

The Terriors did show signs of life, grabbing control of the game in the third period, coming within one goal.

The Vipers sealed the deal with less than a minute to go in the final frame, an empty netter by Colton Sparrow,  his third of the game.

The Vipers win 6-4.

They now sit 1-1 and face the 2-0 Dauphin Kings Tuesday night.
