REGINA – A man is recovering from smoke inhalation after risking his life to save his pets from a house fire early Sunday morning.
Firefighters were able to rescue two dogs and three cats from a fire in the 1400 block of Athol Street.

The animals are now in the Regina Humane Society’s care.
It appears the blaze started in the kitchen and spread throughout the home.
Damage to the home is fairly significant.
On Monday an investigator will try and determine a cause.
