When an Oliver business woman started selling cookies named “Great Bear Patties,” she never expected her marketing efforts could be so effective.
After leaving a vehicle window slightly open Saturday night while visiting West Vancouver, her neighbours told Tracy Lydiatt that her car may have been broken into.
Lydiatt said after seeing large animal prints and slobber, she determined a bear had actually busted through the window and made off with a bag of cookies she had accidentally left in the car.
“It’s quite funny… our product is called Great Bear Patties and our company is called Great Bear Enterprises,” she said.
The brazen bear fled the scene, leaving behind only crumbs and damage to the vehicle.
