SASKATOON – Saskatoon’s neighbourhood street sweeping program begins Monday.

Civic crews and contractors are expected to work for the next six weeks through residential areas, starting with Holiday Park.

This year, approximately $605,000 in additional funding has been dedicated from the road levy. The money will allow for extra equipment, contractor resources and maintenance support.

In order for sweepers to work effectively, parking enforcement and tow truck relocating will be rolled out city-wide to prevent people from parking on scheduled streets.

The signage will be posted along streets a minimum of 36 hours in advance.

Vehicles that remain parked on streets slated for sweeping at 7 a.m. will be ticketed $100 and relocated to a nearby street.

People can find their vehicles using the find my vehicle application.

If poor weather develops, the neighbourhood will be shuffled to the end of the schedule.
