Teen charged in string of bomb scares targeted Calgary school: police

CALGARY- Police confirm one of two teenagers recently charged in a string of bomb scares targeted a school in Calgary.

On the morning of April 24th, police rushed to Mountain Park School in the southeast after a threat was phoned in.

The school was evacuated, and students took shelter in the gym at nearby Douglasdale School. In the end, nothing suspicious was found.

Quebec Provincial Police say a 16-year-old Ontario boy was arrested in Ottawa on Thursday, following an investigation that included the FBI.

Calgary Police say he’s accused of being connected with the Mountain Park School scare, and is alleged to have committed similar crimes in different parts of Canada, the U.S. and the U.K.

A 15-year-old boy from Quebec was also arrested on Thursday in Laval. He’s alleged to have made similar threats against a shopping centre, homes and a school.
