Argument leads to double assault

KELOWNA, B.C. – Kelowna RCMP arrested a 22-year-old man after report of an assault that took place Thursday morning on Girard Road.

The man allegedly engaged in what police describe as a verbal altercation with a women in a home in the 500 block of Girard at 2:37 A.M. May 8th.

Police say he’s accused of assaulting her and another male resident before fleeing on foot.

The suspect was arrested after a search by officers and a police dog. He was found with a bike that RCMP say was likely stolen from near Bach and Hemlock Roads.

The man faces possible criminal charges, including assault, uttering threats, theft under $5,000 and Mischief. He’s set to appear in court August 21st.
