TORONTO – Toronto police say three Montreal men are facing a total of 122 charges in a fraud investigation.
Police allege three men travelled to Toronto from Montreal on multiple occasions beginning in 2013 and participated in distraction thefts in downtown bars and restaurants.
It’s alleged they stole wallets, money and identification, and used the information obtained from the stolen identification to change PIN numbers on credit cards.
The stolen cards were then used to purchase high-end clothing and items from stores in Toronto.
It is believed similar incidents of theft and fraud may have been committed in Peel Region, Ottawa, Laval, Que., and Vancouver.
Charged are David Rossy, 27, Andre Beaulieu, 32, and 48-year-old Ransford Steele.
