WATCH: Soccer player applauds his goal from the stands

He shoots, he scores, and the crowd goes wild!

It’s a familiar chain of events for any soccer fan (or fans of most sports for that matter).

In most cases however, the player who scored isn’t also part of that applauding crowd.

But Dzimtry Kovb of FK Trakai had other ideas. During a game against VMFD Žalgiris in Lithuania’s LKL league Tuesday, the sneaky striker knocked in a crucial header to tie up the game.

Some players would embrace their teammates, kiss their jersey, wave to the fans, or any of a hundred goal-scoring celebrations we’ve seen over the years.

But Kovb isn’t content to just live in the moment – he wants to witness it, too.

Taking off for the stands, Kovb finds a seat in the bleachers and proceeds to calmly applaud his goal.

While this is undoubtedly a unique and humorous goal celebration, it’s not likely to catch on on a wider scale – Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, or Jermaine Defoe would likely have a harder time finding an empty seat in the front row and calmly golf-clapping their goals.
