CALGARY- Two men are facing murder charges, after a man was found dead in a Southview home earlier this year.
Officers were called to the 2000 block of 27 St. S.E. on Jan. 19, after a man returned home to find his roommate dead.
An autopsy determined that 46-year-old Dennis Manuel Barreira died from strangulation.
Police believe two men were invited into Barreira’s home, and at least one of them was known to him. It’s alleged that the pair went there with the intent of robbing the house, and Barreira was killed in the process.
On Tuesday night, two men were arrested in northeast Calgary, and have since been charged.
Kyle Earl Pate-Miller, 21, and Chad William Brian Mondoux, 24, both face first-degree murder charges.
They are scheduled to appear in court later this month.
