VERNON — Officials have released the name of a north Okanagan teen who died Sunday afternoon in a crash on highway 97 in Lake Country.
Three others suffered serious injuries in the head-on collision.
The coroner has identified the boy who died as Rodney Michael Boring, 14, of Vernon.
He was a passenger in the car that swerved into oncoming lanes and slammed head-on into a pick-up truck.
The driver of that car, a 17 year old male from Vernon, and the two occupants in the pickup truck who are from Lumby, suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Police continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
