WATCH: Spring conditions may have triggered rock slide

Boulders, some the size of engine blocks, came crashing down onto Highway 3 near Keremeos.

The front of a semi-truck trailer was hit by one of the rocks last night; luckily, the driver was not injured.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

The slide closed the section of highway overnight, but it was re-opened the next morning.

The province’s Ministry of Transportation said warm temperatures and rain may have triggered this recent slide.

This is the same area where a major rock slide took place last January and closed the highway for nearly a week.
