Getting people to pitch in, especially money, can be a tough task. That is why Costco Kelowna was recognized by the Central Okanagan United Way.
For the second year in a row, Costco had 100 percent employee participation in their annual United Way campaign. That means every single employee in each of the departments at Costco pitched in money for the United Way, raising over 95 thousand dollars for the United Way’s campaign this year. An uncommon feat for a store with over 350 employees.
On top of the money raised, 21 staff members donated over five hundred volunteer hours in a single February weekend turning what was meant to be a Day of Caring at the Kelowna Boys and Girls Club, to a Weekend of Caring.
