Two-year-old boy and his father bear sprayed in possible road rage incident

A two-year old boy and his father were bear sprayed last night in Surrey following an apparent road rage incident.

The attack happened around 8 p.m. at Eastview Park near 125th Street and 75A Avenue in Surrey.

Dayton Barratt,2, was with his mother Sara Barratt and his father walking to the park when a black Land Rover approached them at a quick speed. The father motioned with his arm to slow down, and words were exchanged with the occupants in the vehicle before speeding off, Barratt said.  There were three people in the Land Rover at the time.

A few minutes later, the Land Rover returned while the family was playing in the park. The father approached the vehicle, which had two additional people as passengers, and as he neared the SUV he was sprayed in the face with bear spray.

Barratt said due to the reach of the bear spray, her son also was hit in the face.

Neighbours hosed down the toddler and his father and managed to get the majority of the bear spray off the pair. Paramedics were called to the scene and treated.

RCMP are looking for the suspect, who is described as a young East Indian male.
