Architect selected for new Vancouver Art Gallery

The Vancouver Art Gallery has selected an architect for its new multi-million dollar home.

Herzog & de Meuron of Switzerland were selected as the successful firm as part of a worldwide competition.

The firm has designed such buildings as the Birds Nest stadium in Beijing and the Tate Modern Museum in London.

There’s no timeline yet for the opening of the new 300,000 square foot gallery but it will be located in the former Larwill Park next to the post office.
