TORONTO – A Toronto woman is facing 11 charges in connection to a violent kidnapping incident in the city.

Police have alleged that a woman was held captive in two east-end apartments in December and was violently assaulted by a man and three women with various weapons over several days.

It’s also alleged the victim was choked with a seatbelt as she was driven to a park, where she managed to escape and sought help from a passerby.

Elanna Marki, 40, was arrested in Ottawa on Friday and faces five counts of assault with a weapon and two counts of aggravated assault, along with kidnapping, forcible confinement and other charges.

Two other women have already been arrested in connection with the case and face charges including assault with a weapon, forcible confinement and kidnapping.

Police are still looking for John Brown, 44, of Pickering, in connection to the investigation and say he is believed to be armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
