Abbotsford street racer has car impounded again for speeding, 133 in a 60 zone

VANCOUVER – A teenage driver in Abbotsford has lost the family car to the impound lot once again after he was caught speeding Sunday night.

Police say around 5 p.m. the 17-year-old was pulled over in a Chrysler 300 going 133 km/hr in a 60 km zone.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

The driver had been involved in a street racing incident with five other high-end cars two weeks ago, and the car had been impounded for a week.

He was issued a $368 ticket for that incident.

Cst. Ian MacDonald with the Abbotsford Police says this time the driver was given an excessive speeding ticket and the car will be impounded again for seven days, although further action regarding impound and licensing could come from the Office of the Superintendent of Motor Vehicles.
