In the Elevator: Lloyd Axworthy on dealing with the opposite sex

So today on the Morning News what I thought would be a conversation about the metric system versus imperial turned out to be a valuable lesson. Eva estimated Mike’s height at 5-foot-8 (he’s really 5-foot-10). Mike’s hurt look proved my point that when you’re guessing a man’s height, always guess taller. I believe the converse to be true for a woman’s weight — always guess lower.

I figured who better to be the ultimate arbiter for such a discussion than Dr. Lloyd Axworthy, former minister of foreign affairs? He’s met countless people in his life in an endless array of social situations. Surely he must be able to shine some light on this potentially awkward situation.
