Traffic nightmare on Pitt River Bridge after accident involving transit bus

The backup on the Pitt River Bridge due to an accident.

VANCOUVER – An accident involving a transit bus and several vehicles is causing a traffic nightmare for commuters on the Pitt River Bridge.

The accident happened at the east end of the bridge, around 3:20 p.m., in the right-hand eastbound lane of Hwy-7 Lougheed Hwy.

Two lanes of traffic are now reportedly blocked and traffic has already backed up across the bridge, into Coquitlam and along the Mary Hill Bypass.

If you have to go this way home or are expecting someone taking this route home, allow for more time as there are heavy delays.
