Today marks the 44th annual Earth Day and celebrations are taking place around the world to honour Mother Nature, including here in Vancouver.
Many took part in eighth annual Walk for Water in downtown Vancouver today, joining 15 other cities across Canada, to raise awareness about global water crisis.
The walk is six-kilometers long, an average distance a young girl or woman in Eastern Africa must walk to access clean water.
The walk was led by Margaret Trudeau, the mother of federal Liberal leader Justin Trudeau.
More details to come.
