SASKATOON – A major power outage hit parts of Saskatoon on Monday morning.
Just after 9 a.m., the power went out at Global News.
People on social media reported power went out in the downtown core and most of the west and north sides of the city including North Park, Meadow Green, Mayfair, Caswell Hill, North Industrial, Richmond Heights, Hudson Bay, Mount Royal, Westmount, King George and Holiday Park.
Circle Drive North was backed up with traffic lights not working. Police are advising drivers to treat all intersections where traffic lights are out as four-ways stops.
Saskatoon Light & Power crews have repaired the four blown substations that caused the outage and say power has been restored all customers.
There is no word yet from the city on what caused the blown substations.
