SASKATOON – A heartwarming story Global News has been covering this week now has a happy ending.

Thanks to an anonymous donor, a local teen is able to live out his dream of taking his grandparents on a vacation to the United Kingdom.

Hudson Marchewka has epilepsy, autism, and cystic fibrosis.

He began saving hundreds of bottles to earn enough cash to take his grandparents to “Thomas Land”, but last Friday, they were all stolen.

Hudson’s mother, Mimi Marchewka, said more than 1,000 community members stepped forward to donate bottles and cash to Hudson this week.

And now, a local donor – who wishes to remain anonymous – has covered the entire cost of the flights.

“He is ecstatic, I mean, Hudson always has a smile on his face, but I have to say, it’s a ‘perma-grin’ right now,” explained Mimi Marchewka.

“It was amazing. The outpour of support again is just amazing. We are so blessed, so lucky.”

Hudson’s mother said half of the the additional funds raised will go to the John Dolan school, and the other half will go to the Children’s Wish Foundation.
