MONTREAL – The City of Montreal is giving Montrealers a helping hand when it comes to figuring out what’s open and what’s closed over the Easter holiday.
City Hall has released a statement confirming that many of their facilities will remain open over the four day weekend, while some will modify their hours.
A number of city offices, including Accès Montréal and other service offices will be closed on Good Friday, April 18 and Easter Monday, 24, 2013.
Garbage, recycling and bulky item pick-ups
Household garbage, green waste, food waste and recycling collections will continue according to the regular schedule, except for in Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie where the collection of bulky objects has been cancelled.
Ecocentres
Ecocentres will follow their regular summer schedule, opened everyday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Sports and cultural facilities
Residents are encouraged to contact their boroughs directly as the schedules of arenas, swimming pools, sports centres, libraries and cultural centres vary from neighbourhood to neighbourhood.
The Claude Robillard sports complex will be closed Friday, April 18, and Monday, April 21.
The Montreal Biodame, Insectarium, Botanical Garden and Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium will be opened to the public according to their regular schedule.
Other facilities
The Montreal municipal court at 775 Rue Gosford and the service counter at 303 Rue Notre-Dame Est will be closed.
Public markets and the Bonsecours market will be open.
The Pointe-à-Callière Montréal Museum of Archaeology and History will be open Friday, April 18, but closed on Monday, April 21.
Parking
Park meters in the city will operate at all times over the Easter holiday.
