Parts of Deerfoot Trail scheduled to shut down for maintenance

CALGARY- Parts of the city’s busiest roadway are scheduled to be blocked off for repairs and cleaning.

Sections of Deerfoot Trail will close for four nights, so crews can sweep away sand and debris, as well as conduct maintenance on spots like the Calf Robe Bridge.

The closures will be in effect from 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. in the following areas:

Southbound:

April 17, 2014

  • Southbound Deerfoot Trail will be closed between 17 Avenue SE and Glenmore Trail SE.
  • Traffic will be rerouted to southbound Blackfoot Trail SE, then eastbound Glenmore Trail SE, and back to southbound Deerfoot Trail SE.

April 20, 2014

  • Southbound Deerfoot Trail will be closed between 17 Avenue SE and Southland Drive SE.
  • Traffic will be rerouted to southbound Blackfoot Trail SE, to eastbound Southland Drive SE, and back onto southbound Deerfoot Trail SE.

Northbound

April 22, 2014

  • Northbound Deerfoot Trail will be closed between Southland Drive SE and Peigan Trail SE.
  • Traffic will be rerouted to northbound Blackfoot Trail SE.

April 23, 2014

  • Northbound Deerfoot Trail SE will be closed between Southland Drive SE and 17 Avenue SE.
  • Traffic will be rerouted to northbound Blackfoot Trail SE.
