Westshore water safe to drink

CENTRAL OKANAGAN — Residents who rely on the Westshore Water System in the riding of Central Okanagan West can resume drinking their tap water.

Officials issued a water quality advisory last week after learning that the upper Mountain Reservoir had been vandalized.

The incident affected about 150 households.

The Regional District of Central Okanagan says it has consulted with Interior Health and that lab results show no signs of water contamination.

The regional district says it is installing fencing around the reservoir — located above the Westshore subdivision — in order to prevent further acts of vandalism.
