Informed Dining program continues to expand, almost 2,000 restaurants on-board

The “Informed Dining” program developed here in B.C. continues to expand across Canada, with almost 2,000 restaurants now signed on to the program.

Restaurants who are part of the program provide full nutritional information, focusing on calories and sodium.

The restaurants can be identified by a sign on their front door, featuring an “i” logo on a yellow background and the phrase “Informed Dining.”

The program also includes information on daily caloric and sodium requirements.

Several major national restaurants have signed onto the program including McDonald’s, Tim Hortons, Subway and Starbucks.

The program was developed in partnership with Restaurants Canada, the B.C. Restaurant and Foodservices Association, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of B.C. and the Yukon, public health partners and chain and independent restaurant representatives.
