WEST KELOWNA — Anyone who uses the W.R. Bennett Bridge will soon notice their commute is taking a little longer than usual.
That’s because there’s a traffic pattern change in the works for construction of the Sneena Road underpass on Bridge Hill.
Officials say all five lanes of Highway 97 will be re-aligned around the construction zone beginning the first week of May.
The actual work dealing with the re-alignment will begin Sunday, April 27, and will involve temporary lane closures in both directions.
It also means that the speed limit will be coming down from 80 km/h to 50 km/h.
The underpass will link Sneena to Campbell and Westside roads.
