CHETICAMP, N.S. – Police have found two snowmobilers who were reported missing in the Cape Breton Highlands.

The RCMP say their preliminary investigation shows that both men, aged 35 and 54, had accidentally flipped their snowmobiles.

The Mounties say one of them walked out to a Natural Resources Department officer in the Cheticamp area around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The other was held up in a cabin due to injuries.

Officers say he was taken to a local hospital but his injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The men left Middle River on Monday morning en route to Cheticamp, about 67 kilometres away, when they were reported overdue.
