Cars trapped after gas station roof collapses in Mississauga

TORONTO – Two people pumping gas Monday had to run from falling debris after the roof of Shell Gas station in Mississauga collapsed, covering one of the two cars in debris.

No one was injured during the collapse but roofing material, pieces of wood and live wires now cover the parking lot of the Mississauga gas station on Winston Churchill Boulevard near Highway 401.

Witnesses say the roof collapsed after a huge gust of wind blew through the area.

A repair company is working to clean up the gas station and the Ministry of Labour is investigating.
