COLES ISLAND, N.B. – New Brunswick RCMP say they don’t believe foul play was involved in the death of a woman whose body was found in Coles Island, N.B. on the weekend.

An investigation was launched after the woman’s body was found partially submerged beneath a bridge on Saturday afternoon.

Police say they’re waiting for an autopsy to be completed to determine the exact cause of death.

The woman’s name was not released, but the RCMP confirmed she was a 57-year-old from Wickham, N.B.

Coles Island is about 60 kilometres east of Fredericton and 30 kilometres northeast of Wickham.
