PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. – Police are still investigating after a wanted man barricaded himself inside a Prince Albert home.
Late Friday night, Prince Albert police arrived at a home in the 800-block of 16th Street West looking to arrest a man wanted for outstanding warrants.
Positive identification was made through a window and police requested the suspect exit the residence.
He refused, barricaded himself inside and announced he had a firearm.
Police contained the scene while the SWAT team and crisis negotiators arrived.
The six-hour ordeal ended with the suspect being taken into custody.
No injuries were reported.
The 35-year-old man has been charged with uttering threats, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and breach of court ordered recognizance.
He will appear in Prince Albert provincial court on Monday.
