Victoria bus drivers upset that they’ll have to announce all stops

If BC Transit gets its way, Victoria bus passengers will soon start hearing from their bus drivers quite a bit.

The company is insisting drivers use a microphone to call out every stop. It’s in response to BC Human Rights Tribunal complaint from a visually impaired passenger.

But the new policy has been met with strong opposition from bus drivers themselves, who say it’s potentially dangerous.

Keith Baldrey reports.
