Edmonton student robbed at gunpoint; police searching for suspect

EDMONTON – A local high school student underwent a frightening ordeal Friday morning, when he was allegedly threatened by a man carrying what appeared to be a handgun.

The Grade 10 student was reportedly on his way to school around 11 a.m. in an area near Argyll Road and 86 St. when it happened. Police say the teen was approached by a man who allegedly brandished a gun or a replica weapon, and demanded money from the youth.

The suspect is described as being a Caucasian male in his 30s with blonde, shaggy, ear-length hair. He is believed to be approximately 5’5″ tall and 125 lbs. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black hoodie with a white skull and cross symbol on the front, along with black jeans.

The suspect is also believed to have a tattoo on his right forearm (blue and red in color).
