WINNIPEG- The Chairman of BBB Stadium Inc. says its too soon to provide an estimate on what flood damage to several suites at Investors Group Field will cost.

Andrew Konowalchuk told Global News Friday he has toured some of the affected areas and noted water damage to the ceiling tiles on the upper level, and soggy carpets in some of the suites.

“Water that had been pooling on the surface on different areas of the concrete was draining back under the doors and into the private suites,” said Konowalchuk. “There is some wet carpet but not any depth of water that would get your feet wet (when wearing shoes)”

There are 46 suites at the home of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Konowalchuk not say how many were impacted by the spring waters as he had not personally walked through every single one.

When asked if the consortium that runs the stadium was previously made aware of the possibility of flooding Konowalchuk replied: “Not to the extent we are seeing today.”
