Cash, marijuana seized by Saskatoon police in drug bust

SASKATOON – A week-long investigation by Saskatoon police has led to a drug bust and charges against two men.

Members of the integrated drug enforcement team made the first bust on Wednesday after watching a man make numerous transactions over the past seven days.

A search of his vehicle turned up around a half-pound of marijuana.

Police then carried out searches at two residences.

Around three kilograms of marijuana and approximately $7,000 in cash was seized at a residence in the 10-block of DeGeer Crecent.

The second suspect was arrested after leaving the residence before police carried out their search.

A search of an apartment in the 700-block of 10th Street East turned up 39 grams of marijuana and 59 grams of psilocybin.

Two men, 28 and 35, are facing charges of possession of marijuana and possession of property obtained by crime. The 28-year-old man is also facing charges of trafficking marijuana and possession of psilocybin.

The pair, who have not been named, were scheduled to appear in a Saskatoon courtroom on Thursday afternoon.
