Seeing a rat in the New York subway is very common. But they’re usually crawling along the tracks and not inside a subway car.
A YouTube video taken during the Monday morning commute captured one of New York’s finest rodents riding the “A” train heading from Manhattan to Brooklyn, much to shock and surprise of passengers.

The video shows passengers lifting up their legs and even standing up on the seats, and many of them screaming in horror.
Passenger Jianis Ponnampadikkal Kader said someone getting off screamed, “Rat on the train!” But, by the time passengers realized what was happening, they were trapped with the rat inside.
The rat was running laps in the car for most of the ride.
