WINNIPEG – Winnipeg Blue Bombers rookie head coach Mike O’Shea completed his coaching staff Monday by naming Cory McDiarmid the club’s linebackers coach.

McDiarmid previously spent time with the Bombers in 2006 as the running backs and special teams coach.

McDiarmid has 10 years of experience in the Canadian Football League working in various capacities with the B.C. Lions, Montreal Alouettes, Toronto Argonauts and Saskatchewan Roughriders. He was Saskatchewan’s special teams assistant last season. McDiarmid also got CIS experience with the Ottawa Gee Gees in 2012 when current Bombers’ defensive co-ordinator Gary Etcheverry was head coach.

The Blue Bombers also signed non-import defensive lineman/linebacker Louie Richardson and import running back Nic Grigsby on Monday. Richardson, a former Manitoba Bison, has been with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats the last two seasons. Grigsby, who played at Arizona and rushed for more than 2,400 yards and 20 touchdowns in 28 games with the Wildcats, was at the B.C. Lions’ training camp in 2012.
