New poll suggests Manitoba’s NDP struggling to regain support

WINNIPEG – A new opinion poll suggests Manitoba’s governing New Democrats are still struggling, while the Liberals appear to have momentum.

The Probe Research Inc. poll, done for the Winnipeg Free Press, suggests the Opposition Progressive Conservatives have the support of 46 per cent of decided voters — down two points from the last poll in December.

The NDP garnered the support of 28 per cent of decided respondents — up two points from December — and the Liberals scored 23 per cent — up three points.

All party movement was within the poll’s margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 per cent, 19 times out of 20.

The telephone survey involved 1,010 Manitoba adults between March 17 and 28.

Twenty per cent were undecided or refused to state a preference.
