Your guide to Marie-Victorin’s 2014 provincial election race

There are eight candidates running in the riding:

Parti Quebecois: Bernard Drainville (incumbent)

Quebec Liberal Party: Jean-Guy Tremblay

Find out more about the riding

The riding of Marie-Victorin is currently held by Parti Quebecois MNA Bernard Drainville, the Democratic Institutions and Active Citizenship Minister and main proponent of Quebec’s proposed charter of values.

Marie-Victorin has belonged to the Parti Quebecois since its creation in 1981. The only exception is when the riding voted in the Quebec Liberal Party from 1984-1985.

Electors: 46,478

2012 voter turnout: 71.88%

1995 referendum vote: Yes: 60.5%; No: 39.5%

On April 7, 2014, polling stations will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. To find your local polling station, click here.

You must be entered on the Quebec list of electors in order to vote. When heading to the poll station, remember to bring either your driver’s licence, health insurance card, Canadian passport, Treaty status card or Canadian Forces ID.
