CALGARY- A frightening ordeal has police trying to track down the man responsible for a sexual assault.
Around 3 a.m. on Nov. 24, a woman was near 14 Ave. and 2 St. S.W. when a man approached her in his car. She asked him for a ride home, but instead of driving her there he took her north of city limits, where he physically and sexually assaulted her.
At one point the victim was able to get out of the vehicle and run, but the man drove after her, even trying to hit her with the car. Fortunately, another person came across the scene and intervened, which is when the suspect drove off.
The man, described as 35 to 40 years old with a heavy build, was driving an older-model, dark green Ford Taurus.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
