A 46-year-old Surrey male is in custody following an assault and barn fire last night.
Just after 8 p.m. Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a man who had allegedly assaulted another male following an argument on a property near the 5100 block of 168th Street.

Following the assault the suspect fled to a nearby field, allegedly set a barn on fire and ran before police arrived on the scene.
Eventually the suspect called police, was found and arrested. The 46-year-old is in custody and facing arson and assault with a weapon charges.
The man will appear in court today.
