The game-winning goal in a Toronto minor league hockey championship should have even NHL scouts taking a bit of notice.
Game 7 of the Greater Toronto Hockey League Atom final between the Toronto Marlboros and the Toronto Titans Tuesday night saw plenty of drama even before the game-winning goal off a penalty shot.
The Marlies went into game 7 of the “Battle of Toronto” needing a win to wrap up the series, and opened up the scoring with a goal in the second from Jack Guvenal.
Then came a lucky break for the Titans before the end of the frame, as a centering pass by Nikolas Kurysko somehow deflects into the net .
The game stayed tied into the third period before Sebastian Switzman of the Marlies was awarded a penalty shot .
And while he may be only 10-years-old, you’re not going to see a better dangle.
The Marlies take the game 2-1, and win the series and the GTHL atom championship 9 points to 5.
