Speeders in Surrey tomorrow may get a handwritten warning about their driving habits — from an elementary school student.

Surrey RCMP, ICBC and Martha Currie Elementary are teaming up for the annual event to get drivers to slow down in school zones.

Last year, police checked over 2,000 vehicles and issued over 200 special warnings, along with dozens of violation tickets.

The campaign starts Wednesday, April 2 at 12:00 p.m. outside Martha Currie Elementary.
