Wi-Fi service rollout at all GO stations now expected to take longer

A GO Train at Union Station, Toronto.

TORONTO – GO transit riders will likely have to wait well over a year before getting access to free Wi-Fi at all GO stations.

The transit company has extended a pilot project that equipped 14 of its stations with Wi-Fi over the past year.

It was previously suggested that the service would be available in all 63 train stations and 15 bus terminals by this spring.

But that is now being called overly optimistic by GO and officials say they should have an announcement in the next few months.

GO is also looking for a way to put Wi-Fi on its trains but say that will be much more complicated.
