YORKTON, Sask. – Emergency services were called to a complaint of a train versus pedestrian collision that occurred in Yorkton, Saskatchewan on Saturday morning.

Around 7:30 a.m., a collision occurred at a railway crossing on Broadway Street West by Laurier Avenue.

A train was headed northbound when a man walked in front of it and was struck.

He was taken to hospital in Yorkton and has since been transferred to another hospital in Saskatoon for further medical treatment.

RCMP say alcohol was a factor in this collision.

Yorkton is approximately 305 kilometres east of Saskatoon.
