TORONTO — Leonardo DiCaprio isn’t the only one upset he didn’t win an Oscar this year for his work in The Wolf of Wall Street.

A theatre company in the Russian city of Chelyabinsk decided to right a wrong by honouring DiCaprio on Thursday with an Ascar.

The Ascar is a 24-centimetre cast-iron statuette that weighs about 1.4 kilograms.

The Chelyabinsk Chamber Theatre will also give DiCaprio a certificate making him an honourary member.

Alla Tsypordei told the Itar-Tass News Agency she isn’t sure how they will get the Ascar into DiCaprio’s hands.

DiCaprio, 39, lost the Academy Award for Best Actor this year to Matthew McConaughey.

It was his fourth nomination — and his fourth loss — in 20 years. DiCaprio was previously nominated for 1994’s What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, 2005’s The Aviator and 2007’s Blood Diamond.
