CALGARY – A 17-year-old girl is facing over 30 charges in connection to a rash of graffiti in the city’s northwest.

Police say the graffiti targeted public and private property like transit shelters, benches, sound walls and light posts in communities such as Ranchlands, Edgemont and Dalhousie.

The teen, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was arrested on Thursday.

Police have charged her with 32 counts of mischief under $5,000.

Meanwhile, officials are hosting a workshop on the topic of graffiti at the Hillhurst Sunnyside Community Association from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2014.

Calgary Police Service Graffiti Coordinator Dave Ladic will discuss the issue of graffiti, how communities can prevent it, and what can be done when private and public property is the target of graffiti.
