Tim Bozon to be released from Saskatoon hospital

SASKATOON – Kootenay Ice forward and Montreal Canadiens prospect Tim Bozon will be released from a Saskatoon hospital on Friday.

Bozon, who turned 20 on Monday, shared the news from his Twitter account on Thursday.

The Ice tweeted Bozon is expected to drop the puck in Cranbrook prior to game 6 between Kootenay and the Calgary Hitmen.

A press conference is being held Friday morning at 9:20 a.m. CST and Global News will be streaming it live.

Bozon was admitted to Royal University Hospital on March 1 where he was diagnosed with Neisseria meningitis.

He was placed in a medically induced coma and listed in critical condition. Last week, his condition was upgraded as he was slowly awoken and moved out of intensive care.

Bozon was selected in the third round, 64 overall, by Montreal in the 2012 NHL draft and had 30 goals and 32 assists in 50 games with the Ice this season.
