KELOWNA — A Lake Country man is following the footsteps of local Olympian Kelsey Serwa.
Ned Ireland has qualified for the World Junior Championships in ski-cross underway in Italy.
He’s currently ranked as one of the top five Canadians in men’s ski-cross on the Nor-Am circuit after reaching the podium twice with a first and a third at a recent race at Sugarloaf Mountain in Maine and a fifth and seventh place in Beaver Valley, Ontario.
After Italy, Ireland will be racing in Germany before returning to Canada for the final Nor-Am of the season followed by the Canadian National Championship at Sunshine Village in Banff.
Ireland is in his second year studying human kinetics at UBCO.
